Welcome to the digital casebook of collaborative services on digital platform or ‘CODI’. Due to the advancement of information communication technologies, digital P2P platform emerged as an effective enabling platform to facilitate a variety of collaboration in the digital world. Among them are collaborative productions of the digital commons such as Wikipedia or Open-source software projects which are emerging as a powerful alternative way of production. In the field of social innovation, we can also find cases in which innovative solutions to social needs combined with digital technologies contribute to conviviality and sustainability of society.
The goal of this research is to identify the qualities that contribute to rapid growth of digital production and applying them to diffusing social innovation at the grassroots level without losing its core values.
This research is conducted in collaboration with Zoes* project sponsored by The Foundation of Banca Etica.
*Zoes stands for ZOne for solidarity Economy and Sustainability. It is a project initiated by the Fondazione Sistema Banca Etica and Fondazione Sistema Toscana to provide a digital platform for e-commerce, social network, geo-reference, exchange of information and participation of communities and in the end contributes to reducing carbon footprints of everyday consumption, improving social conviviality and promoting local economies (www.zoes.it)
